Ángel Velazco


Biography

 
Ángel Velazco Hernández (Havana, Cuba, 1971) is a designer, illustrator and cartoonist. He currently works as art director for Zunzún, a monthly children’s magazine. Ángel has published dozens of comic books, created cartoons for television and illustrated many books for other authors. He is the creator of one of Cuba’s most popular and beloved children’s characters, Kukuy, el güije de Charco Azul (Kukuy, the Gnome of Blue Pond). Ángel and his wife and collaborator, Yudeiny Fernández, have two children: Ángel and Alejandro.
