Ashley-Ruth Moolenaar Bernier is a sixth-generation Virgin Islander. She wrote her first story at four, and has been writing stories and poems ever since. Her favorite subjects to write about are children and the Caribbean. A graduate of the University of Virginia, she taught elementary grades in the public school system of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. She also has a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Ashley-Ruth is married and the mother of three children who also love to read and write!
