It was a short visit to the island of 365 rivers, and a great visit as well. Mario spoke to local authors and read to the children during the double event at Dominica’s Public Library in Rousseau. He also met with Ferne Brumant, South District Education Officer, and Cynthia White-Phillip, Curriculum Officer for Language Arts of the Ministry of Education for some book-talk regarding topics in Dominican children’s literature and to explain the book-giving-program initiated in the U.S. Virgin Islands, now on its fourth successful year. We would like to give a special thanks to Head Librarian Davina Jones and the rest of the Roseau Public Library staff for their hospitality and huge effort that made such a great day possible.
